Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Fall Tour

The Rocky Mountain Oldsmobile Club had a very nice fall tour this year. thanks to the efforts of Gary Lee and Paul Williams for hosting this tour. We would also like to thank Kevin Lee and Mark Felson of Phones West Digital for co-sponsoring the tour.

The Durango Silverton Railroad is an old narrow Guage that winds it's way through the Southern Colorado Rocky Mountains. The ride is an all day round trip from the city of Durango to the city of Silverton and back. We had over 50 members join in this outing with some additional members from two other car clubs along for the ride.

You will see from the pictures below that wonderful scenery that happens in the Colorado high country in fall. The Aspen trees were turning and that is just a wonderful site to see. Really breathtaking with some snow already on the higher peaks. The members enjoyed a great drive down from Denver to Durango and then the train trip the following day. After another overnite stay a different route was taken home for even more wonderful views.
