December: RMOC Meeting and Holiday Party

What a wonderful way to say goodbye to 2025. At this Holiday meeting we are ending the year with the 45th anniversary of the club. Our club is more than a club, we are a family. Our holiday party is a great way for us to show appreciation to our members and how grateful we are to have everyone in our club. A big thank you to everyone and Happy Holidays!

This Year was one of our largest turnouts to the RMOC Banquet with 39 members attending. Thank you to our waitresses Araceli and Mercedez for doing an outstanding job at Mickeys Top Sirloin Restaurant

October: After Meeting Lunch hosted by Bob and Judy Ahrendts

Thanks to Bob and Judy for inviting our club up every year for a lovely luncheon that Judy lovingly cooks for us. She always prepares something delicious, and the club contributes a variety of tasty side dishes. They generously host the event at their home in a beautiful location with a wonderful mountain view.

October: Avenues Car Show

Thanks to Paul Williams for putting on the 2nd car show at Avenues! We had seven club members at the show. We had a really fun day at the event!

September: Cripple Creek &

Woodland Park Car Show

Stacey, Rick, and Tyler came up from Texas to join us at the Woodland Park Car Show. Five of our cars made the trip to the show, but the journey and the chance to experience Cripple Creek with the club made it well worth the drive. Thanks to Bruce Lane for setting up this event!

September: Brookdale Senior Living Car Show

The Club had a car show at the Brookdale Senior Living Center. This is the 5th car show we have done here where Chuck and Jan Carlson lived.

August: Club 45th anniversary at Waneka Lake Park

We had a beautiful day celebrating our 45th club anniversary with a picnic. We had 26 club members show up to help celebrate this memorable day. A thank you to Roger Opfer for setting up the park and being our cook. The other club members helped out by bringing all the side dishes for us to enjoy.

June: Steve William’s Model Car Collection

Steve Williams did a talk on early automobiles in Castle Rock. He has set up a display of memorabilia about the CDR Drag Strip in the Castle Rock Museum. We visited his model car collection at the museum he has set up at home, devoting his entire basement to it. Bobs home is on the historic home list in Castle Rock

June: Show and Shine

This year at the BPOC Show and Shine our member Bob Swan took home the best of show award, this was done by the people’s.

A big thank you goes out to Gary Smith for setting this up this year, in getting our members back out to Boot Barn for this car show.

Our club started this along with the Pontiac club and Gary Cannady back in 2005 when it was known as (Shepler’s) now Boot Barn. A big thank to Joe and Lori Peifer that started the PBOC along with Gary Cannady.

Then Gary Smith took it over and was the chairperson till 2019. This year it was put on by Classic GTO Association of Denver, the Colo. Chapter of the POCI, the Mile High Buick Club, and the Cadillac Lasalle Club that all had member volunteers

This year our club members showed up big time, in the Oldsmobile class.

Alan Lowe took home 1st  place

Keith Sholes 2nd place

Ron Madd 3rd place

Bob Swan took home best of show

Thanks to our members for bringing out your cars, Gary Smith. Phil Wyatt, Bob Ahrendts.

February: 2025 Lowe Soup Supper

We had evening of good food and fun games. There was many different types of soup brought by our members and games such as pinball, shuffleboard, a slot machine, bowling and video arcade games.

For those who have not been to a soup supper before, the object is for each family that comes brings a pot of their favorite homemade soup or a dessert. And there are enough pots of different soup that everyone can sample 3, 4 or 5.

January: Men’s Potluck

We had an impressive turnout for the Men’s Potluck despite the snow and cold. The food was fantastic and almost all of it was gone during the event

December: Paint & Sip with Susan Opfer

We had 10 painters for the Paint and Sip. You don’t really need to be an artist to have a good time at a Paint & Sip. Thank you to Susan and her friend Jeanie for organizing this activity.

October: Hagen’s Halloween Party

We were invited to Lanny and Dave’s for a Halloween party which turned out to be a hoot. Lannie goes all out with disgusting looking food with great flavor. So many people came in costume, which made it even more fun. Thank you to Lannie for opening her home to us all.

October: Officer’s Banquet

We would like to thank Kathy for all of her help, planning the menu and decorations. Alan for taking care of the money, Larry with the set up. And of course, Jaime and her most talented design of all the neat Halloween houses and bottles. Thank you all!

We had 28 people attending this year’s Banquet, the food was very good, and the waitress, Larysa was so good, we were all well taken care of. I did not get the name of our cook (do have a picture of him and Larysa). He made the best scalloped potato, Pork loin and gravy, Herb chicken breast and green beans Almondine.

Again, thank you for attending this year’s Banquet, and do hope you enjoyed it.

September: Brookdale Car Show & Jan and Chuck’s 70th Anniversary

The club celebrated a great day with the Carlson’s – a 70th Anniversary!! Several members brought their cars out, we had a nice BBQ lunch, and spent time with one of our favorite couples. The weather was nice; not like the 100+ degree day we would have gotten earlier in the summer.

Chuck and Janice, congratulations again!

September: Backyard Oktoberfest

We had around 70 people not counting kids and grandkids, so a good turnout. There was lots of good food and fun with only a couple of minor issues. We managed to get two people locked in the bathroom in the garage and had to use a screwdriver to get them out. Also, the sign I have as a joke on the door going into the house that reads “Please Use Other Door” was taken quite literally by a few folks. We had to cover that up so people could get into the bathroom that wouldn’t lock them in. As Larry says, “It’s all about the stories.”

July: OCA Nationals & Wagner Classic Cars

President Larry Ruppel, Tony, and Bob enjoying some beverages at the National Swap meet; they couldn’t find any cups so they used taillights to drink from.

June: Music Night at the Rupples Compound

The club enjoyed a casual Saturday evening enjoying our favorite band Soda Blue

May: Florence Show Weekend

The group got away for the weekend at Canon City. We met for dinner Friday night in Penrose at the Gooseberry patch, and Saturday for the VFW’s 1st annual car show and enjoyed a nice Italian dinner at DiRitos Italian. Sunday the group went to the car show in Florence

Lowe Soup Supper 2024

Every year since 1997, the Rocky Mountain Oldsmobile Club hosts a Soup Supper. This event brings together club members from all walks of life who share a love for Oldsmobile's classic cars. When you walk in, you’ll be greeted by members of the club and get the chance to try some soups, homemade by members showing off their favorite recipes. Amidst conversations and laughter, members connect over stories and experiences with their beloved Oldsmobile cars. To add to the nostalgic feel, there are arcade games set up, allowing members to have friendly competitions and relive their youth. The Soup Supper not only provides delicious food but also offers a sense of community and a shared passion for Oldsmobiles.

Mob Tour

The Oldsmobile club went on the exciting Mob Tour, where we saw the secrets of Colorado's Prohibition era. We explored the dark world of bootlegging and illegal activities in the 1920s and visited the infamous Mob House, where the Mob held secret gatherings. We discovered the clever disguises used in the Mob Church, a front for illicit operations and uncovered the impact of Prohibition on Colorado's criminal underworld.

Moses Walker

Farewell, Blues Musician Moses Walker

Thank you for sharing your talent, friendship, and passion with us, Moses. Your presence will be missed but your spirit will forever resonate here. Let us bid Moses a fond farewell, embracing the harmonies of life as the music carries on.
